Help! My hot water is leaking, can you fix it? This is one of the most common enquiries our leak detection hotline deals with day in and day out. The simply answer to this question is yes, we can fix it. However, by providing us with additional information at the time of your call will allow us to provide you with a much fuller answer. Before you call us, gather a little information by answering the following questions:

1. Where is the hot water leaking from? Is it leaking from a radiator? A pipe? The boiler? Answering this question obviously tells us straight away what the probable problem is.

2. If you cannot see where the leak is coming from, then where is it located? Is it upstairs or downstairs? Close to the boiler? Is the water leaking through a wall or ceiling? Answering this question will allow us to make a best guess as to the root cause of the leak problem.

3. Is this a new leak? Or has it been a minor leak for some time which has become much worse? If we know that a new leak has occurred we can be pretty sure that only a single area is affected. If it is an existing leak which has gotten worse we know that there will probably also be long term tertiary damage we will need to track down and advise you of.

4. How urgent is the leak? If you rely upon your hot water supply completely, for example you have several young children, or are taking care of an elderly person; you probably cannot go too long without needing hot water. By letting our hotline know how urgent the leak is, we will be able to prioritise your repair better.
